Sea Island Habitat for Humanity- the 3rd oldest Habitat affiliate in the world. Assist our experienced construction staff in ensuring we build quality homes in a timely and cost-effective manner. This salaried position is as much (if not more) of a group-work leader as a builder, and your personality is as important as your construction knowledge.

Requirements
Ensure that a member of the construction staff is at the job site prior to the scheduled time of arrival for volunteers.
Provide adequate supervision and training of volunteers on the job site. This includes holding an initial meeting with the volunteers at the beginning of the workday to discuss the plan for the day, as well as a safety presentation and discussion.
Supervise construction volunteers in a manner that encourages future participation, with an emphasis on safety, quality fellowship and mission.
Plan volunteer needs to be sure that all volunteers have meaningful tasks.
Supervise the quality of construction to achieve a finished product that will meet or exceed all applicable building codes and reflect positively on the SIHH image and reputation.
Assure that each job site is properly maintained and orderly.
Address all safety concerns promptly. Ensure that a first aid kit, directions to emergency care, and drinking water are available at each work site.
Assure that all necessary tools and materials are at the job sites prior to the start of each planned activity.
Instruct and qualify leaders of self-directed work teams.
Establish and maintain a truck stock inventory to assure minimal shortages at the job sites for both material and tools.
Request acquisition of hand tools as needed.
Ensure availability of tools at job sites.
Recommend acquisition of major tools and equipment as needed.
Establish and maintain a periodic maintenance schedule for tools and vehicles.
Secure tools for safe keeping.
Organize and maintain all construction storage facilities, job sites, SIHH vehicles and SIHH facilities to be free of clutter and debris. Conduct daily job site clean-up.
Treat all homeowners, volunteers, donors, vendors, compliance officials, visitors, neighbors and staff with love, dignity and respect
Performs other appropriate activities and duties as assigned.
