Position Summary
Cornerstone Industrial is seeking a highly motivated and flexible Site Superintendent to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have formidable site construction experience and be familiar with field concepts, materials, procedures, plans/drawings, and safety protocols within the commercial construction industry.
This position involves weekly travel (100%) with intermittent breaks throughout the projects.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Provide direct on-site supervision, management, and coordination of all construction activities and subcontractors, ensuring projects are completed from start to finish in a compliant, efficient, and safe manner.
Pre-Construction Phase
Site Logistics Planning:
Develop and implement comprehensive site logistics plans, including trailer placement, material storage zones, access points, gates, safety protocols, signage, and temporary utilities.
Material Management and Verification:
Ensure efficient material management through effective ordering, receiving, storage, and quality verification procedures.
Technical Expertise in Pre-Construction:
Leverage technical expertise to review construction plans, specifications, and schedules during pre-construction, identifying and proactively addressing potential issues and deficiencies for the project manager.
Contract and Budget Understanding:
Demonstrate a strong understanding of customer contracts, project estimates, budget breakdowns, subcontractor scopes of work, and supplier agreements.
Project Scheduling and Procurement:
Create, manage, and update detailed project schedules with activity sequencing, durations, and procurement lead times.
Punch List and Closeout Procedures:
Collaborate with the project manager to establish a clear punch-list process and closeout procedures before construction begins.
Project Schedule Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with the project manager to develop and maintain the overall project schedule.
Tool and Equipment Procurement:
Schedule and procure all necessary tools and equipment for the project, ensuring availability and optimizing costs.
Construction Phase
Leadership and Teamwork:
Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment, building strong relationships with team members and subcontractors to achieve project goals.
Field Management:
Provide day-to-day leadership on-site, ensuring all activities comply with safety, schedule, and quality requirements.
Direct and manage the workloads and responsibilities of supporting staff to maximize efficiency.
Collaborate with on-site personnel to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
Project Documentation and Communication:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily reports, schedule updates, and system correspondence.
Identify and communicate potential construction conflicts to the project manager for timely resolution.
Participate in regular project update meetings with the project manager and upper management.
Clearly communicate project goals and objectives to all field personnel.
Quality Control and Safety:
Implement a comprehensive quality control program, ensuring all materials and workmanship meet project specifications.
Meticulously document the quality and progress of each subcontractor and supplier.
Enforce strict adherence to job safety requirements (city, state, federal) by all personnel and subcontractors, prioritizing a zero-incident work environment.
Lead on-site safety meetings, maintain job site signage, and actively address all safety hazards.
Conduct regular safety inspections and log findings in weekly reports.
Project Management and Administration:
Track material and equipment deliveries, subcontractor start dates, and project progress.
Assist the project manager in reviewing and processing change requests.
Maintain a daily log (written and visual) of all on-site activities, updated and posted regularly.
Address any deficiencies identified by the project manager and ensure a clean and organized job site.
Post-Construction
Facilitate a collaborative punch-list process to ensure all customer concerns are addressed and obtain final sign-off for project completion.
Prepare and finalize as-built drawings, accurately reflecting all field-verified changes made during construction.
Comprehensively document the project closeout process through photos and detailed reports, ensuring a smooth handover to the client.
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years of verifiable experience in the construction field, preferably leading restaurant or retail projects in a superintendent role.
Willingness to travel as needed, ensuring a work-life balance with regular time at home
Proficiency in communication tools and MS Office Suite.
Essential Skills:
Proven ability in project management and scheduling, ensuring meticulous planning, organization, and execution to meet deadlines and project goals.
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and project specifications.

Possession of a valid OSHA 30 certification or willingness to obtain it within 30 days of employment.
Bilingual, Spanish is a plus but not required.
Additional Information:

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
Willingness to work weekends, off-hour shifts, holidays, and overtime as needed.
