POSITION SUMMARY: Roots Landscape is hiring for a Hardscape Foreman. This role is responsible for leading and supervising hardscape installation crews on residential and/or commercial landscape construction projects. This role ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and according to company quality standards. The Hardscape Foreman serves as the on-site leader and primary point of contact for crew members and management. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a Background Check and a Drug & Alcohol screening. Roots adheres to the regulations of the DHS E-Verify Program.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Supervision & Leadership
Lead, train, and supervise hardscape crew members
Delegate daily tasks and ensure efficient workflow
Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and site plans
Ensure all installations meet design specifications and quality standards
Maintain strong communication with Project Managers regarding progress and issues
Hardscape Installation
Oversee and participate in installation of:
Paver patios and walkways
Retaining walls
Outdoor kitchens and living spaces
Fire pits and fireplaces
Stone veneer and masonry features
Steps, borders, and edging
Ensure proper site preparation, grading, drainage, and base installation
Verify proper compaction and leveling procedures
Operate and supervise use of construction equipment and tools
Safety & Compliance
Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations
Conduct daily jobsite safety checks
Ensure proper use of PPE
Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
Equipment & Materials Management
Coordinate material deliveries and verify quantities
Monitor material usage and minimize waste
Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in proper working condition
Report maintenance or repair needs promptly
Customer & Team Communication
Serve as on-site contact for clients when necessary
Maintain professional appearance and communication
Address and resolve on-site challenges proactively

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
3+ years of experience in hardscape installation
1–2 years of crew leadership or foreman experience preferred
Strong knowledge of paver systems, retaining walls, grading, and drainage
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
Experience operating skid steers, mini excavators, compactors, and other equipment
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Valid driver’s license
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions
