Description
We are supporting a well-established Southern California law firm with a deep focus on construction, public works, and education-related matters. The firm represents school districts, public entities, public works contractors, and design professionals, offering comprehensive legal support across the full lifecycle of construction and facilities projects. This role is ideal for a litigation attorney who wants meaningful exposure to complex construction disputes and public agency representation. You will work closely with experienced partners who bring decades of specialized knowledge and a practical, problem-solving approach to litigation and advisory work. The firm values attorneys who understand not just how disputes are litigated, but how they originate and how to resolve them effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage litigation matters involving construction disputes, public works contracts, and public entity representation.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and legal memoranda.
- Conduct legal research related to public contract codes, construction law, and applicable state and local regulations.
- Represent clients in court appearances, depositions, mediations, and other dispute resolution proceedings.
- Advise school districts and public agencies on compliance, state funding issues, and dispute avoidance strategies.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategy and prepare matters for trial or resolution.
Requirements
- Active member in good standing with the State Bar of California
- 2 to 4 years of civil litigation experience
- Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
