Description

SPR Construction Corporation is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent / Quality Control (QC) Manager for a project at West Point Military Academy involving the rehabilitation of historic underground steam tunnels. This position requires strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills to manage field operations and ensure quality and safety compliance on a Department of Defense (DoD) project.

The project scope includes installation of temporary steam bypass systems, removal of aging steam infrastructure, installation of new piping systems, and final tie-ins to the permanent system.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide onsite supervision and coordination of all construction activities.
• Coordinate rehabilitation of vaults/tunnel and installation of new steam piping systems within existing tunnel infrastructure.
• Manage final system tie-ins and removal of temporary bypass systems.
• Implement and maintain project Quality Control (QC) processes in accordance with contract requirements.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and site-specific safety plans.
• Maintain project documentation including daily reports, QC reports, and inspection records.
• Coordinate inspections and maintain professional communication with West Point DPW representatives.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure work meets project specifications and schedule requirements.

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working on Department of Defense (DoD) or Federal construction projects.
• Experience with USACE projects and Construction Quality Management (CQM) processes.
• Knowledge of steam piping systems, utility infrastructure, and rehabilitation work.
• Strong understanding of construction safety standards and OSHA requirements.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively and professionally with government representatives and project stakeholders.
• Highly organized with strong documentation and reporting skills.

Education & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent or QC Manager on infrastructure or mechanical utility projects.
• CQM Certification (preferred) or ability to obtain.
• OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.
