Description
- Position Summary
Sippel Development is seeking a motivated and resourceful Construction Staffing Recruiter to support hiring across multiple crews, including Heavy Equipment Operators, Laborers, Diesel Mechanics, and other skilled trade roles. This position plays a vital role in identifying, attracting, and placing top talent while partnering closely with internal teams to meet workforce demands.
Key Responsibilities
Recruiting & Talent Acquisition
- Develop and execute targeted recruiting strategies to identify qualified construction candidates through various channels including social media management, job boards, ATS (Applicant Tracking System), and cold calling.
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for new and open construction positions, including:
- Job postings and advertising
- Candidate sourcing and pipeline development
- Screening and interviewing candidates
- Coordinating onsite interviews
- Administering pre-employment assessments
- Conduct comprehensive interviews to assess technical skills, experience, and cultural fit for construction roles.
- Build and maintain strong industry networks to support ongoing recruiting efforts
- Represent the company at job fairs and recruiting events (both attending and hosting)
- Create compelling, well-formatted job postings to attract qualified candidates
- Utilize creative sourcing strategies across multiple channels to identify talent
Onboarding & Compliance
- Lead new hire onboarding, including:
- Completion of new hire paperwork
- I-9 verification
- DOT file management
- Safety orientation
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment regulations
- Respond to unemployment claims in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee records and sensitive information
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Provide reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions
Requirements
Required
- Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of recruiting or HR experience
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred
- Recruiting experience within the construction or skilled trades industry
Position Details
- Full-time, salary-exempt, on-site position.
- Standard hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
- Occasional evenings and weekends may be required to meet business demands.
- Occasional travel required.
- No direct supervisory responsibilities.
